FAQ
What exactly is this Ovo Eleven thing?
Ovo Eleven is an egg tray that helps people with symmetry and exactness issues to organize their eggs in symmetrical patterns for any number of eggs up to 11. Symmetry in a regular 12 egg carton is only possible with 4, 8, or 12 eggs.
Additionally, store-bought egg cartons are opaque, which makes it more difficult to inspect the egg pattern. This exacerbates anxiety for people who also have pathological doubt (checking) OCD.
Wait, what?
Never mind. This is not for you.
I totally get it, but eggs are sold by the dozen. What should I do with the 12th egg?
Eat it.
What if I’m not hungry or don’t have time to cook the egg?
Discard it.

What if I don’t want to waste a perfectly good egg?
Buy a carton with one broken egg. It’s not safe to eat an egg with a broken shell, so discarding the broken egg would not be wasteful.
What if the grocery store doesn’t have any cartons with broken eggs, or I buy eggs before I am completely out, and end up with more than 11 eggs?
Use a second Ovo Eleven to arrange up to 22 eggs.
May I arrange the eggs into patterns other than what is shown in the diagram?
No.
What if I have a variety of egg colors or sizes?
Brown and white eggs, or large and small eggs can co-exist symmetrically in Ovo Eleven.
